The origin of I Heart Foundation
A recollection from the beginning
DECEMBER 2023
An inspiration to fundraise
When she sees that not all of the high school girls' tennis teams can afford uniforms, Whitney Luu decides to make a change and raise uniform money for the next year's tennis season. After hosting a fundraising tennis tournament for her purpose, she ends up collecting a total of $3,000. This opened her eyes to the impact she could make if she went elsewhere with such events, and how it could help more than just her school sports team.MARCH 2024
A helping hand
Luu wanted to find a reliable person to help her kickstart her big idea, and found the perfect candidate in Tristan Trinh. Trinh evaluated the proposal and immediately took action to begin working on the foundation. The two planned to co-found and organize the foundation, starting with themselves.APRIL 2024
Starting small
Luu and Trinh started by making a business plan for the two branches across the states. Both pitched the idea to people around them, seeking efficient and trustworthy potential peers. They designed their own logo, created a simple social media account, and prepared to officiate I Heart.APRIL 2024
A team effort
A board of directors was established through applications, and I Heart was set in motion. The team began to piece together the first few events, and the foundation took off.
